EAST BRIDGEWATER — A Brockton man has been arrested and charged with photographing a woman in the shower at the East Bridgewater YMCA.
Chief Michael Jenkins of the East Bridgewater Police Department reports that Abidan Rivera, 42, has been charged with photographing, videotaping, or electronically surveilling someone who is nude or partially nude.
Police responded to the YMCA at 635 Plymouth St. on Sunday, March 2, after receiving a report about a suspicious man taking photos of a woman in the shower.
Following a police investigation, Rivera was identified as the suspect through video surveillance and an eyewitness account.
Rivera, a registered Level 2 sex offender, was arrested at his workplace in Middleborough on Monday, March 3, after an arrest warrant was secured.
He was arraigned on Tuesday, March 4, where the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office requested $20,000 bail.
The judge set bail at $10,000 with GPS monitoring if released and issued an order for Rivera to stay away from the YMCA and the victim.
