WEST BROOKFIELD — The West Brookfield Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on Lake Street on Feb. 16.

The victim was not struck.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an older-model green Chevrolet pickup truck seen in the area of Cottage Street, Lake Street, and Wickaboag Valley Road around 2:50 p.m. that day.

Investigators believe the weapon used may have been a BB or airsoft gun, though this has not been confirmed.

Authorities have yet to determine whether the incident was random, targeted, or related to the victim’s political views.

A neighboring community reported a similar incident on the same date, and police are working to determine if there is a connection.

Residents with road-facing security cameras are urged to review their footage from that time.

Anyone with images of the suspect vehicle is asked to send them to [email protected].
