SALEM — Salem police, in a monthlong investigation, arrested 12 individuals involved in illegal narcotics sales throughout February, focusing on the areas around Margin and Canal streets.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division and officers from the Community Impact Unit collaborated in the operation.
CID detectives identified individuals who were supplying narcotics to the city’s unhoused population, while CIU officers increased outreach to those dealing with substance use disorder.
The arrests, made on Feb. 27, included Gerald Glover, 33; Cornelius Groce, 47; Gregory Harrison, 59; Matthew Selig, 43; Cheryl Messina, 60; Harvey Acosta, 47; Luis Flores, 37; Zachary Stiefel, 36; Courtney Fuller, 45; Timothy Bergevin, 41; Anthony Meara, 28; and Willy Guerrero-Berroa, 28.
Charges range from trafficking fentanyl to distribution and possession of various controlled substances.
Authorities seized 60 grams of fentanyl and 21 grams of crack cocaine during the operation.
