PORTLAND — Police are investigating a serious motor vehicle accident that occurred Sunday, March 2, at 9:15 p.m. in the area of Forest Avenue and Walton Street.
A 57-year-old Portland man was struck by a car while he was in the roadway.
The vehicle was driven by a 22-year-old woman from South Portland.
As the driver of the first car attempted to render aid, the victim was hit by a second vehicle driven by a 62-year-old Portland man.
The victim was transported to Maine Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Portland Police Department and its Crash Reconstruction Team are currently investigating the incident.
No charges have been filed at this time.
