AUBURN — An early morning traffic stop on Feb. 28 at State Street and Arterial East led to the arrest of a man with numerous driving suspensions, along with drug and weapon charges.
The Auburn Police Department reported that an officer on routine patrol stopped a vehicle at approximately 2:10 a.m. for having no front license plate, a violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law 402.1A.
The driver, identified as Steven M. Morrow, of Riverhead, was found to be operating the vehicle with 30 suspensions on his driving record.
Further investigation revealed that Morrow was in possession of methamphetamine and a loaded Glock 9mm semi-automatic handgun.
Morrow was arrested without incident and transported to the Auburn Police Department headquarters.
He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
After processing, Morrow was arraigned in Auburn City Court and remanded without bail.
