NEW HARTFORD — New Hartford police, in collaboration with the Utica Police Department and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, have apprehended the suspect involved in the Saturday incident at Sangertown Square Mall.
The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Malachi T. Wynder from Rome, was located by police in Utica.
Wynder faces charges of attempted murder, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.
He was transported to the New Hartford Police Department for processing and subsequently held at the Oneida County Jail awaiting arraignment.
The Oneida County District Attorney’s Office played a significant role in the investigation, which continues as additional charges may be filed.
The victim injured in the incident is reportedly recovering from their injuries.
