MOUNT VERNON — Westchester County police arrested a Mount Vernon man after he attempted to flee from detectives through a first-floor window during a raid Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. at the suspect’s residence on Pearsall Drive.
Officers from the Narcotics Unit, supported by the Mount Vernon Police and other units, arrived to execute a search warrant.
The 29-year-old suspect was immediately apprehended after a brief struggle.
He was found in possession of a loaded handgun.
Further investigation at the scene uncovered quantities of heroin and cocaine, illegal handgun magazines, and components potentially used to assemble “ghost guns.”
Authorities revealed that the handgun seized from the suspect had been reported stolen in a New York City burglary.
The man faces charges including multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration.
He was arraigned in Mount Vernon City Court and is currently held at Westchester County Jail on $15,000 bail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
