LEICESTER — On Friday, Feb. 21, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Leicester Police Detective Bureau executed a search warrant at 31 Towtaid Street.

The operation was conducted with assistance from LPD’s patrol, K-9 and drone units, as well as members of the Spencer Police Detective Bureau.

During a search of the residence, officers discovered two illegally possessed firearms — a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun and a small caliber semi-automatic pistol — along with a significant amount of ammunition of varying calibers.

Also found during the search was a glass pipe and a small amount of suspected crack cocaine.

Sean Dufault, 52, the suspect and resident of the address, was arrested.

Dufault faces charges including possession of a firearm without a firearms identification (FID) card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and possession of Class B narcotics.

He was held on $5,000 cash bail until his arraignment at East Brookfield District Court on Monday, Feb. 24.
