A Saugerties man arrested for narcotic sales and possession

KINGSTON — A Saugerties man was arrested for narcotic sales and possession by the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team (U.R.G.E.N.T.).

In July 2023, U.R.G.E.N.T. began investigating the sale of cocaine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl in the Kingston area.

The investigation identified David S. Jackson, 49, of Saugerties, as responsible for selling crack cocaine and fentanyl.

A warrant for Jackson’s arrest was obtained by U.R.G.E.N.T. from the Kingston City Court on Jan. 28.

On Feb. 19, Jackson surrendered and was arrested, facing three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

He was arraigned in Kingston City Court and released on his own recognizance.

Jackson is scheduled to appear in Kingston City Court on March 3 at 8:30 a.m.

Agencies with members assigned to U.R.G.E.N.T. include the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Shandaken Police, Town of Lloyd Police, Town of Marlborough Police, Ulster County Probation, Town of Plattekill Police, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, and the FBI.
