LOCKPORT — A vehicle pursuit early Friday morning ended with the arrest of a Lockport man on multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Bull was assisting the City of Lockport Police at 12:58 a.m. with a shots fired call when he noticed a vehicle operating without lights in the area.
As Deputy Bull attempted to follow the vehicle, it reportedly fled at a high rate of speed, initiating a pursuit through Lockport.
The driver eventually abandoned the vehicle on Center Street and fled on foot.
He was apprehended shortly thereafter.
The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Ronald D. Timmerman Jr. of Lockport.
Timmerman faces several misdemeanor charges, including driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle above an .08% BAC, unlawful fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, resisting arrest, and obstruction of governmental administration 2nd.
He is also facing numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, officials said.
Due to bail reform legislation, Timmerman was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the City of Lockport Court.
His vehicle was impounded.
