Cortland police arrest Cincinnatus man on multiple felony charges

CORTLAND — On Feb. 25, at approximately 6:28 p.m., officers from the Homer Police Department arrested Jason E. Rice Sr. in Cortland.

Rice, 47, of Cincinnatus, was taken into custody at the Cortland County Jail on an arrest warrant issued by the Town of Homer Court.

The charges include forgery in the 2nd degree, falsifying business records in the 1st degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the 4th degree, and petit larceny.

The warrant is linked to a Dec. 2, 2024 incident in which Rice allegedly used a stolen credit card to make an unlawful purchase in a store in the village.

Rice reportedly signed the receipt to complete the transaction.

Following his arrest, Rice was processed at the Cortland County Jail.

He was held to be arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Part.

Rice was released on Feb. 27.
