WORCESTER — Worcester police arrested a man on multiple warrants and recovered a loaded firearm during a raid Tuesday evening at a Fiske Street residence, authorities said.
Officers with the Worcester Police Department’s Gang Unit executed a search warrant at about 5:15 p.m. and located 32-year-old Lakeam Bennett, who had five active warrants for his arrest, police said in a statement.
The warrants included prior firearms-related charges.
During the search, officers found a loaded firearm.
Authorities said Bennett did not have a license to carry firearms.
Police also reported discovering what appeared to be Oxycodone pills.
Officers said Bennett did not have a prescription for the medication.
Bennett was taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including unlawfully carrying a firearm, possession of a large-capacity firearm, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, improper storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, resisting arrest, and possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, police said.
