THOMASTON — A Waterbury man was convicted in connection with a 2023 robbery at a Valero gas station in Thomaston.
Darrence T. Saunders, 46, was found guilty of third-degree robbery and second-degree assault on an elderly person for the Nov. 14, 2023, incident at the Valero station on 9 North Main St.
Saunders was arrested by Thomaston police on Dec. 12, 2023.
The Litchfield Judicial District Court sentenced him to four years in prison for the Thomaston robbery.
Saunders was also convicted in Waterbury Judicial District Court and Bridgeport GA court for robberies in Waterbury and Stratford.
He received a total sentence of five and a half years to run concurrently, followed by probation.
