PITTSFIELD — Police are searching for multiple individuals who fled the scene of a rollover crash early Thursday morning.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 5:30 a.m. to the 900 block of Holmes Road for a report of a motor vehicle rollover, according to the Pittsfield Police Department.
While en route, officers learned that three to four occupants had fled the crashed vehicle on foot.
A K-9 officer and his partner assisted in tracking the individuals through the woods until they reached South Street.
A citizen later informed police dispatch that multiple people had entered an unknown van and left the area before officers arrived on South Street.
Through an investigation involving police officers, dispatchers, and citizen assistance, authorities were able to identify the vehicle’s operator.
Emergency responders, including the Pittsfield Fire Department, also assisted at the scene.
