Oneida County deputies respond to two-car crash in Westmoreland

WESTMORELAND — Deputies responded to a two-car crash with injuries late Feb. 25 on State Route 5, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident occurred at approximately 11:34 p.m.

Deputies determined that Indir Dzambic, 27, of Herkimer, was traveling east in a 2010 BMW when he failed to maintain his lane, crossed the center line, and collided with a 2015 Toyota RAV4 traveling west.

The Toyota was driven by Ko Lay, 21, of Utica, with passengers Phari Dar, 45, of Utica, and Ohma Ya, 25, also of Utica.

The Westmoreland Fire Department responded, and all individuals involved were transported to The Wynn Hospital for evaluation.

Deputies determined that Dzambic was at fault for the accident.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Westmoreland Fire Department, Vernon Fire Department, Edwards Ambulance, AmCare Ambulance Service, Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Merrell’s Collision, and Upstate Auto Gallery.
