Albany police recover illegal guns, drugs in morning raid

ALBANY — Albany detectives recovered two illegal firearms and a quantity of narcotics following a search warrant Wednesday morning on Old South Pearl Street.

Around 7:15 a.m., the Albany Police Department’s Community Response Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on the 700 block of Old South Pearl Street in reference to an ongoing narcotics investigation.

During the search, detectives recovered a loaded 9mm ghost gun, a loaded semi-automatic pistol, and a quantity of crack cocaine.

Several items used to distribute and sell narcotics were also located inside the residence.

Parrish Butler, 32, and Nateisha Watson, 41, both of Albany, were inside the residence at the time of the search and were taken into custody.

Butler and Watson have each been charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, seven counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree.

Both were arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
