SPRINGFIELD — A Weathersfield woman was cited on charges of DUI and negligent operation after she was stopped for allegedly speeding and swerving into the wrong lane, police said.
Dannielle Keilman, 45, was driving a Jeep Renegade at about 60 mph in a posted 40 mph zone on River Street in Springfield at around 3 p.m. on Feb. 21, according to the Weathersfield Police Department.
An officer following the vehicle observed it crossing the double yellow lines and driving entirely on the wrong side of the road on Reservoir Road, police said.
Keilman was stopped and taken into custody for allegedly operating the vehicle in a negligent manner.
During the investigation, authorities said signs of impairment were observed.
She was transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing and later issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor Superior Court, Criminal Division, on May 6 to answer to the charges.
Keilman was released to a sober adult, police said.
