TEWKSBURY — Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect believed to be involved in an armed robbery.
Michael Moran, 46, of Tewksbury, is charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and larceny under $1,200.
On Thursday, Feb. 20, at around 11:18 p.m., Tewksbury police were dispatched to the Shell gas station at 1975 Main St. for reports of an armed robbery.
A preliminary investigation determined that a male suspect brandished what appeared to be a firearm at gas station staff and demanded that they open the cash registers.
The suspect took about $200 in cash from the registers and about four to five packs of cigarettes.
No one was injured.
Through an investigation, police identified the suspect as Moran.
Moran is known to Tewksbury police and has active arrest warrants in other jurisdictions.
Tewksbury police executed a search warrant on Moran’s home and found a BB gun and clothing that matched surveillance footage from the incident.
During a subsequent search of the gas station area, police recovered a firearm that appeared to match the weapon used.
