Deputies, with assistance from the Norwich Police Department and the Village of Sherburne Police Department, conducted the stop and identified one of the occupants as Jason R. Chase, 41, of Norwich, who had an active violent felony warrant issued by Chenango County Court.

When Chase was taken into custody, deputies found he was in possession of multiple individually packaged quantities of drugs, officials said.

Chase was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor.

He was remanded to the Chenango County Jail without bail and is scheduled to appear in Town of Sherburne Court at a later date.

Froelich was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony.

She was arraigned and released on an appearance ticket to appear in Town of Sherburne Court at a later date.
