BRADFORD — Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks arrested a Newark man on suspicion of driving under the influence for the third time after a traffic stop in Bradford.
The arrest occurred at approximately 5:44 p.m. on Feb. 24 when troopers on routine patrol observed a motor vehicle violation and conducted a stop.
The driver was identified as Mathew Simonds, 37, of Newark.
Troopers reported observing signs of impairment while speaking with him.
An investigation determined that Simonds had been operating the vehicle under the influence, and his driver’s license had been criminally suspended.
Troopers took Simonds into custody and transported him to the Vermont State Police outpost in Bradford for processing.
Simonds was issued a citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court – Criminal Division on March 12 at 8:30 a.m.
