WORCESTER — Worcester police are investigating a double shooting that occurred early Monday on Southbridge Street.
Officers responded to multiple ShotSpotter activations for gunfire at approximately 3:27 a.m. and found about 30 shell casings in the area.
Investigators determined that three men were inside a vehicle stopped at a red light when another vehicle drove up behind them and multiple shots were fired.
The suspect vehicle then fled the scene.
The driver of the victim’s vehicle took the wounded men to a nearby hospital, where two of them were treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
The Worcester Police Department’s Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit are investigating.
