WILLIMANTIC — Police are investigating a physical altercation that occurred early Sunday involving four individuals, one of whom was injured.
Officers responded at approximately 3:38 a.m. to a reported fight.
What started as a verbal dispute escalated, and one person was slashed in the shoulder with a knife and punched and kicked multiple times, police said.
The suspects fled on foot and have not been identified.
The victim was taken to Windham Hospital before being transferred to Hartford Hospital as a precaution.
Detectives are investigating, though police said the victim and potential witnesses have been uncooperative.
