TEWKSBURY — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Lowell Regional Transit Authority bus Monday morning in the parking lot of Stadium Plaza, police said.
Tewksbury police responded to the area of Main Street at approximately 11:45 a.m. for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.
Officers arrived to find that the pedestrian had been struck by a bus that was on a planned route through the lot.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, which remains active and ongoing.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office is handling further inquiries.
