PORTLAND — Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Sunday night on Riverside Street.
Officers responded at 7:25 p.m. to the area of 654 Riverside St., where a car driven by a 26-year-old Portland man struck a 37-year-old man who was walking in the roadway.
The victim was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he later died.
His identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
The Portland Police Department and its Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating.
No charges have been filed.
