BRIDPORT — A single-vehicle crash on Happy Valley Road left three people injured Saturday at 10:02 p.m., with the driver facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence, according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers from the New Haven Barracks responded to the crash and determined that Noah Quesnel, 22, of Middlebury, had been operating a 2011 BMW 328I at an excessive speed for the icy and gravel road conditions.
The vehicle was totaled in the crash.
Quesnel and a passenger, Adrian Mal Pica Fuentes, 30, of Bridport, suffered serious bodily injuries and were transported to UVM Medical Center.
A third occupant, an 18-year-old male from Middlebury, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Porter Medical Center.
Before being transported to the hospital, troopers observed signs of impairment from Quesnel.
He was screened and later cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division on charges of excessive speed, negligent operation, and DUI.
The Vermont State Police were assisted by Vergennes Rescue, Middlebury Rescue, and the Bridport Volunteer Rescue Squad.
