Oneonta crashes snarl morning commute on I-88

ONEONTA — Troopers in Otsego and Delaware counties responded to multiple crashes Friday morning during the commute.

At approximately 7:10 a.m., New York State Police at Stamford responded to Interstate 88 near mile marker 58 in the town of Oneonta, where a Chevrolet Suburban traveling westbound went off the roadway and struck an embankment.

The driver, a 38-year-old woman from Davenport, was not injured.

At approximately 7:20 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta responded to a crash on I-88 in the city of Oneonta, where a Subaru Impreza traveling east left the roadway and struck a fence in the median.

The driver, a 26-year-old man from Sidney, declined medical treatment.

At approximately 7:44 a.m., New York State Police at Sidney responded to a crash on I-88 in the town of Sidney, where a Dodge Dakota traveling east lost control, crossed the median and westbound lanes, and came to rest in an embankment.

The driver, a 70-year-old man from Sanford, Florida, was not injured.

At approximately 7:56 a.m., a sergeant from the New York State Police Traffic Incident Management Unit came upon a one-vehicle crash on I-88 in the town of Otego, where a Toyota Corolla went off the roadway and down an embankment.

The driver, a 45-year-old man from Binghamton, was taken to A.O. Fox Hospital for evaluation.

At approximately 8:03 a.m., New York State Police at Sidney responded to a disabled vehicle on I-88 in the town of Sidney.

The Honda Civic was partially off the roadway but undamaged.

The driver, a woman from Windsor, was not injured.

At approximately 8:59 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs responded to a jackknifed tractor-trailer on State Highway 20.

No injuries were reported for the 23-year-old driver from Woodbridge, Virginia, or the 39-year-old passenger from Smyrna, Delaware.
