Oneida County man arrested on firearm charge

CAMDEN — A Camden man was arrested Feb. 21 for illegally possessing a firearm, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.

On Feb. 16, deputies responded to a residence on Hillsboro Road in the Town of Camden for a complaint involving an emotionally disturbed person.

Deputies learned a brief altercation had occurred involving a handgun.

Further investigation revealed that the firearm, a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum, was not registered to the individual in possession of it.

The handgun was secured by members of the sheriff’s office.

The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigative Unit, which led to the arrest of Paul Glitz, 53.

He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony.

Glitz was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Camden Town Court at a later date.
