CARROLLTON — A Bradford, Pennsylvania, woman was arrested early Feb. 20 following a narcotics investigation into an overdose at Sassy’s Truck Stop in Carrollton, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene at 3:10 a.m. and determined that Cheray Matera, 23, had left the area during the overdose and entered a public restroom.
With the assistance of K9 Lex, deputies detected the presence of narcotics inside a toilet paper dispenser where Matera had last been.
Authorities found a white powder substance suspected to be fentanyl, burnt tinfoil and drug paraphernalia.
Matera was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
She was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in Carrollton Town Court at a later date.
