Somerville police respond to assault, break-ins, and arrests over three-day span

SOMERVILLE — On Feb. 16 at approximately 6:10 a.m., Somerville Police responded to 376 Mystic Ave for an assault.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who stated he got into an altercation with a male party while shoveling snow in the parking lot.

During the altercation, the suspect punched and kicked the victim, then grabbed what was believed to be a firearm from his vehicle and made a racking motion.

On Feb. 12 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Somerville Police responded to a business on Broadway for a report of a past breaking and entering.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the owner, who stated a male party broke in and took money from the cash register.

On Feb. 14 at approximately 10:53 a.m., Somerville Police responded to a business on Linwood St for a report of a past breaking and entering.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the manager, who stated two male parties broke into the building overnight and proceeded to vandalize the interior.

The males then took a set of keys and stole a vehicle that they later returned.

On Feb. 14 at approximately 11:12 p.m., Somerville Police responded to Fellsway West for a fight.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with several victims, who stated they were involved in an altercation with a male known to them.

During the altercation, the male suspect grabbed a metal rod and a shovel handle and began to threaten the victims.

The male suspect was placed under arrest.

Other crimes reported during this period included two motor vehicle vandalisms, four vandalisms, one motor vehicle theft, one car break, and two package thefts.
