NEW LONDON — On Feb. 18 at approximately 10:45 p.m., New London police officers responded to the area of 10 Anthony Road for a report of a vehicle rollover.
Upon arrival, officers observed an unoccupied Honda Accord crashed into the apartment building at 10 Anthony Road.
It was reported on scene that a female operator had exited the vehicle after the crash and ran across the street into a house.
Further investigation resulted in the female operator being identified and located.
The operator, identified as Megan Perry, born Jan. 1, 1990, of 27 Marigold Circle, North Providence, Rhode Island, was subsequently arrested and transported to L+M Hospital for medical treatment.
Three families were displaced from 10 Anthony Road and assisted by the Red Cross as a result of the crash.
Additionally, Perry entered an occupied and unfamiliar home after fleeing the scene of the accident.
Perry was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to drive right, evading responsibility, risk of injury to a minor, operating without insurance, and burglary in the first degree.
Bond was set at $50,000, and she was arraigned in court on Feb. 19.
