Man arrested on drug, impaired driving charges in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH — A 36-year-old man from Ellenburg Depot was arrested by State Police on Feb. 19 and charged with multiple drug and impaired driving offenses.

Andrew M. Warren was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree, and operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs in the first degree.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Feb. 19, State Police were patrolling Route 22 in Plattsburgh when they observed a gray 2009 Chevrolet violating a traffic law.

Troopers initiated a traffic stop and interviewed the driver, later identified as Warren.

During the interview, Warren exhibited signs of impairment.

Troopers administered Standard Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs), which Warren failed.

He was arrested and transported to the State Police station in Plattsburgh for processing.

Warren was released on appearance tickets, which are returnable to the Town of Plattsburgh Court at a later date.
