DAVENPORT — A fatal two-car head-on collision occurred on County Highway 12 in the Town of Davenport on Wednesday, Feb. 19, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash was reported to authorities with initial indications that one person was trapped in a vehicle.
Emergency medical personnel responded and attempted life-saving measures but were unsuccessful.
Jean M. Bedard, 63, of Davenport, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Richard Sanford, 53, also of Davenport, sustained minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.
The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit was called to assist with the investigation.
The roadway remained closed for several hours as investigators reconstructed the crash.
Assistance at the scene was provided by the New York State Police, East Meredith Fire Department, Pinders Corners Fire Department, Davenport Fire Department, Delaware County Ambulance, and AMR.
