PLYMOUTH — Four people were injured following a wrong-way driver collision on Interstate 93.
At 8:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, State Troopers assigned to Troop F and Troop E barracks responded to a report of a crash between two vehicles on the offramp of I-93 northbound.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a driver of a 2020 Subaru Outback, later identified by the Troopers as Jason Buttrick, 33, of Ashland, was traveling the wrong way on the offramp and collided head-on with another vehicle, which had three occupants.
Buttrick fled the scene on foot before Troopers arrived, but Troopers were able to locate him and took him into custody.
Buttrick, as well as the three occupants of the other vehicle, were transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Buttrick was charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon as well as misdemeanor counts of DUI, DUI second offense, operating after suspension, and conduct after an accident.
He was also cited with a violation for reckless operation.
Buttrick was released on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Feb. 20.
Troopers were assisted on the scene by members of the Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth Fire & Rescue, and Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue.
