SPRINGFIELD — A Windsor County man was arraigned Saturday on multiple felony charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse materials.
Eric Chambers, 55, of Springfield, faces six felony counts following a criminal investigation led by the Vermont Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (VT-ICAC).
The case began when VT-ICAC received four CyberTipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The reports were submitted by Synchronoss Technologies, a cloud storage provider, after an individual uploaded images of child sexual abuse materials from an electronic device onto its servers.
Investigators identified Chambers as the owner of the cloud storage account used to upload the images.
A search warrant executed at Chambers’ residence revealed evidence of child sexual abuse materials in his possession.
Chambers pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Unit, Criminal Division.
Judge Cortland Corsones ordered conditions of release that restrict Chambers’ access to minors, electronic devices, and the internet.
Chambers was also held without bail on a separate violation of probation case being prosecuted by the Rutland County State’s Attorney’s Office.
