BRIDGEPORT — The Bridgeport Police Department announced a second arrest Wednesday in connection with the 2022 murder of a city man outside a downtown bar.

Kenneth Joyner, 34, of Bridgeport, was charged with murder in the shooting death of Dominique Jones, 29, near a bar on Fairfield Avenue on Oct. 8, 2022.

Joyner was also charged with assault in the first degree and carrying a pistol without a permit.

His bond was set at $1.5 million.

Joyner is scheduled to be arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday.

He was transported to Bridgeport Police Headquarters on Wednesday morning from Massachusetts, where he had been released from federal custody on unrelated charges.

Joyner’s alleged accomplice in the homicide, Joseph DeJesus, 40, also known by the street name “Fat Joe,” was arrested two weeks after the murder on Oct. 25, 2022.

DeJesus was charged at the time with murder, criminal possession of a firearm, illegal transfer of a pistol, and reckless endangerment in the first degree.

The second arrest was the result of a years-long investigation.
