BELKNAP — The Belknap County Sheriff’s Office has issued a scam alert following reports of fraudulent phone calls targeting residents.
Individuals posing as representatives of local law enforcement are calling residents and claiming to be raising funds for the “local police and sheriff’s association annual fundraiser.”
The Belknap County Sheriff’s Office, Belknap County Sheriff’s Relief Association, and its members do not solicit donations over the phone.
Residents are urged not to provide personal information to callers and to report any suspicious calls to their local law enforcement agency.
