OWEGO — The Owego Police Department handled 158 calls for service and made nine arrests during the week of Feb. 10 through Feb. 16.
Officers also responded to three motor vehicle accidents and issued four traffic tickets.
Lucas J. Matteson, 39, of Owego, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, following an investigation of a disturbance on Temple Street.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Owego Court.
Andrew B. Gildea, 43, of Newark Valley, was arrested on a warrant for animal cruelty, a misdemeanor, following an investigation into a dog abuse case from September.
He was arraigned in the Village of Owego Court and released pending further proceedings.
Anthony W. Collins, 37, of Owego, was arrested on a warrant issued by Tioga County Family Court.
He was turned over to the custody of the Tioga County Jail.
Denzel T. Hall, 32, of the Town of Tioga, was arrested for petit larceny, a misdemeanor, following an investigation into a shoplifting incident on West Main Street.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Owego Court.
A 76-year-old woman from Owego was taken into custody for a mental health evaluation after a report indicated she was a danger to herself.
She was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Martin H. Stuve, 36, of Owego, was arrested for criminal mischief and criminal trespass in the third degree, both misdemeanors, following an investigation into a burglary on West Main Street.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Village of Owego Court.
