DELHI — A man from East Meredith was arrested Saturday on a weapon possession charge following a traffic stop, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies stopped a vehicle in the Town of Delhi on Feb. 15 after observing it cross the double yellow line several times, Sheriff Craig S. DuMond said.
The driver, identified as 31-year-old Skyler Smith, was found to be in possession of an illegal switchblade knife, authorities said.
Smith was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor under New York law.
He was also issued a traffic summons for failure to maintain lane, officials said.
Smith was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Delhi Town Court at a later date.
