ALBURGH — A crash involving a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck caused a temporary road closure on Route 78 on Feb. 17 at approximately 5:30 p.m.

State Police responded to the scene near McGregor Point, where a 2022 Freightliner TT-unit, operated by Temesgen Eyob, 34, of Rochester, N.Y., collided with a 2013 Ford F-250 pickup truck fitted with a plow.

The pickup truck, operated by Raleigh Palmer, 72, of Alburgh, was turning into a driveway when the collision occurred.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage, with the TT-unit experiencing damage to the passenger side fender and headlight, and the pickup truck sustaining damage to its plow.

No injuries were reported, and neither operator required hospitalization.

The roadway was temporarily shut down as a heavy wrecker was needed to pull the TT-unit back onto the road surface.

The Department of Motor Vehicles conducted an inspection of the TT-unit following the crash.

The road was reopened after the scene was cleared.
