Woman cited for leaving scene of crash, driving with suspended license in Wardsboro

WARDSBORO — A Whitingham woman has been cited after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash and driving with a criminally suspended license.

The incident occurred on Feb. 8 at approximately 7:53 a.m. on Vermont Route 100 in Wardsboro.

Vermont State Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash and found an abandoned vehicle that had struck a mailbox.

Further investigation revealed that Sarah Galaske, 46, of Whitingham, was operating the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Police determined that Galaske had left the scene without reporting the incident and was driving with a criminally suspended license.

Galaske was also found to be in violation of her active court conditions of release.

On Feb. 17, Galaske was located and issued a criminal citation.

She is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on March 25 at 8:30 a.m. to face charges of leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a criminally suspended license, violation of conditions of release, and negligent operation.
