Man charged with DUI, assault on officers after crash in Orange

ORANGE — On Feb. 16 at approximately 4:29 a.m., troopers from the Vermont State Police Berlin Barracks responded to a crash on Richardson Road in Orange.

Troopers located the driver, Christopher J. Collins, 44, of Orange, and observed signs of impairment.

They determined he had been operating a motor vehicle on a public roadway.

Investigators also found evidence of negligent operation after determining Collins had struck property during the crash.

While being taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, Collins allegedly assaulted two law enforcement officers and resisted arrest.

Collins was processed at the VSP Berlin Barracks and later released with a citation.

He faces charges of DUI, assault on a law enforcement officer, negligent operation, and resisting arrest.
