WEBSTER — Webster police officers arrested a man wanted in connection with a machete attack and five outstanding warrants after a multi-day investigation.

On Saturday, Feb. 8, at approximately 7 a.m., officers responded to the Holden Block Apartments on Main Street for a report of an individual cut with a machete.

Sgt. Brooks, Officer Young Jr. and Officer Collins arrived and located the victim, providing medical aid until Webster EMS took over care.

Officers learned the victim had knocked on an apartment door to inquire about a friend who lived next door.

A man, later identified as Daniel Beaudette, 62, of Main Street, opened the door and told the victim to leave.

Beaudette then brandished a machete and attacked the victim, cutting their hand.

The victim contacted a friend, who called 911.

After identifying Beaudette as the suspect, officers located his apartment but discovered he had fled through a rear bedroom window.

At the time, Beaudette had four outstanding warrants.

Officers recovered the machete used in the attack.

On Monday, Feb. 10, Officer Collins obtained an arrest warrant from Dudley District Court for Beaudette.

On Wednesday, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Sgt. Larochelle, Officer Motyka, Officer Trinque, Officer Caruso and Officer Collins located Beaudette hiding in his apartment and took him into custody without incident.

Beaudette was arrested on five warrants, including charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, operating after suspension, breaking and entering, and insurance violations.
