RUTLAND, NY — State Police arrested a 43-year-old man on Feb. 6 on multiple felony charges related to a 2023 assault in Rutland.
Shane L. Kirkby faces one count of assault in the first degree, a class B felony, and one count of assault in the second degree, a class D felony.
He is also charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, both class D felonies, and two counts of menacing in the second degree, both class A misdemeanors.
The charges stem from an assault that occurred on Nov. 16, 2023, in Rutland.
Following the execution of search warrants on Kirkby’s cell phones, additional charges were filed.
These include one count of unlawful surveillance, a class E felony, and one count of obscenity in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor, related to an unrelated incident in Rutland.
Kirkby was arraigned in Jefferson County CAP Court and remanded to jail on $250,000 cash bail, $500,000 secured bond, or $1,000,000 partially secured bond.
He is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 18 in Rutland Town Court.
