Vernon police seize drugs, arrest man on multiple charges

VERNON — A local man was arrested Friday after police seized drugs and other items during a traffic stop.

On Feb. 7, Detective Flanigan of the Vernon Police Department spotted a vehicle in the Rockville section of town being operated by a known individual.

The detective recognized the driver as someone with active arrest warrants and a history of arrests for the sale and possession of narcotics.

Flanigan stopped the vehicle in a nearby parking lot.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 27.9 grams of cocaine, 5.4 grams of crack cocaine, 107 pressed fentanyl pills, 9.3 grams of marijuana, $275 in U.S. currency, a digital scale, and two cell phones.

Dakota Lopez, 25, whose last known address is unknown, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics, delivery of drug paraphernalia, and operation of a drug factory.

Lopez is being held pending arraignment.
