SOUTH BURLINGTON — A Winooski man was arrested Friday after troopers responded to reports of a bicyclist riding in the passing lane of Interstate 89.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:12 p.m. on Feb. 14 near mile marker 88.8 on Interstate 89 South.
Troopers from the Williston Barracks were dispatched following multiple 911 calls about a male riding a bicycle in the passing lane.
Upon arrival, troopers located De’anta Dix, 38, of Winooski, riding his bicycle in the passing lane before cutting across the travel lane, obstructing traffic.
Dix was uncooperative with troopers’ attempts to assist him off the interstate.
He was subsequently placed under arrest.
Dix was transported to the Williston Barracks for processing.
He was released with a citation to appear at the Chittenden County Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date to answer to the charge of disorderly conduct.
