NORWALK — A Norwalk man has been arrested in connection with the death of a four-month-old infant last year.
On June 11, 2024, Norwalk patrol officers responded to a 911 call at 33 Rae Lane for a report of an infant choking on formula.
The male caller, later identified as Kyle Vigneault, 27, reported performing CPR for several minutes before calling for help.
The infant was transported to Norwalk Hospital by ambulance, where she was pronounced deceased.
Norwalk detectives launched an investigation into the infant’s death, collaborating with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the Department of Children and Families, Children’s Connection Norwalk, and the Yale New Haven Hospital DART Team.
The investigation determined the infant’s cause of death was complications of medical and nutritional neglect, including necrotizing appendicitis and chronic malnutrition.
The manner of death was ruled a homicide.
On Feb. 13, Vigneault was taken into custody without incident at his residence.
He was charged with manslaughter in the first degree, risk of injury to a child, and cruelty to persons.
Vigneault’s bond was set at $125,000.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 27.
