NORWALK — On Jan. 30 at 9:41 p.m., Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple calls reporting gunshots in the area of 16 North Taylor Avenue.
Callers also reported seeing groups of individuals fleeing the scene and hiding in a nearby parking lot.
Patrol officers responded to the location, secured the crime scene, and began searching for suspects.
Officers recovered a total of 26 shell casings, including 21 .40 caliber casings and five 9mm casings.
A bullet hole was also found in the glass window of an apartment at 14 North Taylor Avenue.
The bullet penetrated the window, entered the apartment, and was discovered approximately 10 inches above a bed.
The Detective Bureau assumed the investigation, responding to the scene to interview witnesses, examine evidence, and review surveillance footage.
Detectives identified Anthony Palacios, 20, as one of the suspects involved in the shooting.
An arrest warrant for Palacios and a search warrant for his residence were subsequently granted.
On Feb. 12, Norwalk detectives executed the search warrant at Palacios’ residence and took him into custody.
Palacios, of 14 Ferris Avenue, Apartment 9, Norwalk, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, violation of a protective order, and illegal discharge of a firearm.
His bond was set at $150,000.
Palacios is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 26.
