FALL RIVER — Police responded to a disturbance at a McDonald’s on President Avenue on Feb. 10 after reports of an intoxicated man exposing himself in the play area.
Officers arrived to find customers alarmed by the man, later identified as Robert DeMello, who had also dropped an unknown quantity of pills.
DeMello fled the scene but was quickly located and taken into custody.
Initially providing a false identity, DeMello’s true name was confirmed through hospital records, which revealed two active warrants for his arrest.
A search of his belongings uncovered several illegal substances.
DeMello faces charges including open and gross lewdness, drug possession, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, and outstanding warrants.
He remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
