ADAMS — A months-long investigation culminated in a large-scale law enforcement operation on Friday, Feb. 7, targeting a drug trafficking organization operating in Berkshire County.
The operation, led by the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, resulted in the seizure of 20 firearms, over $200,000 worth of drugs, and $60,000 in cash.
The investigation focused on an organization distributing cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl pills in the region.
On Feb. 8, law enforcement executed 23 search warrants across North Adams, Adams, and Pittsfield, as well as in Lowell.
The operation involved multiple agencies, including the Berkshire State Police Detective Unit, the Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force, and local police departments.
Among the items seized were 700 grams of cocaine, 320 grams of heroin, and 300 grams of fentanyl pills.
Ten individuals were arrested, including Richard Colon, Jose Carrasquillo, and Henry Vidal, who face charges ranging from drug trafficking to illegal firearm possession.
A follow-up press statement is expected on Tuesday, Feb. 11, after all individuals have been arraigned.
