Single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 30 in Newfane leaves jeep totaled

NEWFANE — A single-vehicle crash occurred on Vermont Route 30 near Bruce Brook Road on Feb. 9 at approximately 12:10 p.m.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks responded to the scene.

The operator, Jonathan R. Matyas, 43, of Jamaica, was driving a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.

Matyas was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The vehicle exited the roadway and rolled onto its passenger side upon re-entering.

The Jeep was totaled, but no injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.

Weather conditions were clear, and road conditions were wet at the time of the incident.
